GoalGuardian limits cookie use to what is strictly necessary for the site to function, complemented by a cookieless audience-measurement tool and an advertising pixel (Meta) used to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. This page lists exactly what we use.
A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. It allows, for example, keeping you logged in between pages, remembering your language, or protecting your account against certain attacks.
Two main categories exist: strictly necessary cookies (without which the site does not work) and optional cookies (analytics, personalization, marketing).
| Name | 2. Purposes | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Authenticates your logged-in session. Without this cookie, you'd be logged out on every page. | 14 days or until logout |
csrftoken |
Anti-CSRF protection (form security). Prevents a third party from submitting an action on your behalf from another site. | 1 year |
django_language |
Remembers your preferred display language (fr / en). | 1 year |
These cookies are set by the browser on the goal-guardian.app domain. They are never sent to third parties. You can delete them manually via your browser settings, but the service will no longer work correctly.
GoalGuardian uses the Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram) to measure the effectiveness of its advertising campaigns — for example, to know that a signup came from an ad. This pixel sets a _fbp cookie on the goal-guardian.app domain and may lead Meta to read or write its own cookies (e.g. fr) via facebook.com.
| Name | 2. Purposes | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_fbp |
Set by the Meta Pixel to attribute visits and conversions to our advertising campaigns. | 3 months |
fr (facebook.com) |
Third-party Meta cookie used for ad delivery and measurement. | 3 months |
The only events sent to Meta are: a page view (PageView), a completed signup (CompleteRegistration) and the creation of a first bubble (FirstBubble). We deliberately send no identity data to Meta through these events: no first name, no email address, no date of birth, and none of the content of your Digital Self bubbles.
The recipient of this data is Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., acting as data controller for its own advertising purposes. See Meta's privacy policy. You can object to this tracking at any time (see the “Refuse or limit tracking” section below).
To understand how our service is used, we use Plausible Analytics (hosted in Germany, EU). This tool sets no cookies, doesn't track users across sites, and uses no persistent identifier.
Collected data is strictly anonymous and aggregated: pages visited, country, device type, visit duration. No IP address is kept. This measurement is legal without prior consent according to the CNIL recommendation on exempted audience-measurement solutions, provided it is documented — which is what we do here.
Some third parties may set their own cookies when you use a specific feature:
Advertising measurement cookies (Meta Pixel) are not essential to the site's operation. You can object to them at any time:
Since Plausible audience measurement uses no cookie or identifier, there is nothing to refuse on that side.
This policy may change if we introduce new cookies. The last-updated date is shown at the top of this page. Any significant change will be notified to you.
